We invite you to a 1-day substance regulation electronics seminar (held in German) to obtain general knowledge on product specific statutory regulations and requirements with respect to the environment and product safety (RoHS 2 I REACh I POP I WEEE)

Course Overview:

This course was created in order to convey relevant knowledge about the fundamentals and requirements of the Directive 2011/65/EU RoHS 2, the Regulation (EC) 1907/2006 (REACh) and others. It aims to introduce the participants to the subject area or support advanced participants in developing more detailed knowledge of this subject area.

This course will explain what should be considered in the future, which electric and electronic equipment is affected and how the European chemical laws should be applied.

Content of the Seminar:

Introduction: Day-to-day requirements
The day-to-day requirements that the participants face are determined with the whole group, and the various requirements from different segments are presented.

Theory part I: Overview legislation, statutory regulation environment and product safety
Presentation of the national (German), regional and international regulations on substances, waste, technical conformity and product and transport safety from a current perspective and how they relate to each other.

Theory part II: Economic actors, tasks and obligations, customer / market specific requirements
This part highlights how the participants' own economic actor role can be determined and which tasks and responsibilities result from the relevant regulations. It will also show the direct and indirect tasks, obligations and requirements (Differentiation between legal, market and customer specific requirements).

Practice part: Product classification, impact analysis
Presentation of the classification of a product under the various regulations; the requirements of the product and its documentation resulting from this classification; and the party responsible for the relevant proof and documentation (in consideration of the economic actor role).

Workshop: Working through case studies with presentation of results
In group work, the understanding gained in the previous parts of the seminar is applied by classifying example products based on the economic actor role. The relevant requirements are derived. At the end, each group will present the results of its case study and the results will be discussed with all participants.

Opportunity to ask further questions and share thoughts with all participants.

Bjoern Bartels is a senior consultant and obsolescence management competence lead at ABSC and Managing Director of AMSYS. He has a masters degree in international business and a German diploma in industrial engineering and business management.
